Nature is one of God’s beautiful creations. Lately, I have been taking morning walks down our gravel road. During my walks I search for beautiful things to look upon. If I really take time to stop and look, I can always find something to cause wonder. Children can capture wonder much easier than adults. They are usually not in a rush and find the smallest creature, tiniest flower, and even dirt to bring them delight. I believe God created us to stop and pause and allow wonder to fill our hearts. Ever so gently through nature, God can teach us, speak to us, and provide for us.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Walk Of Wonder
Let me take you for a walk through my blog and show you the wonder of God’s creation. Through His creation He will teach us, speak to us, and provide for us.
God Can Teach Us
It is amazing what we can learn from just stepping out of our homes and going for a walk. God can use our beautiful surroundings to teach us. Since we have been staying at home our lives have slowed down. The turtles and snails are a good example of taking life slow and steady. I also find it interesting how turtles carry their protection with them always. We too have a safe resting place in the hands of our almighty Heavenly Father wherever we go. He is always there to protect us and give us comfort and peace.
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
God Can Speak To US
God’s creation speaks of His existence from the small flower to the majestic mountains. It’s amazing to see the details that go into creating the smallest flowers. In America we have lots of dandelions. The word dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth. Can you see the shape of a lion’s tooth at the end of each petal? It’s uniquely designed. If God put such detail in the flowers how much more special each one of you are to Him.
Psalm 139:13-14 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
God Can Provide For Us
We decided to plant a garden this year. In our garden we planted cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, herbs, watermelon, peas, lettuce, peppers, zucchini, and strawberries. I am not the best at growing things, so I hope it turns out to be a great harvest. It is so amazing how God has provided plants to nourish our bodies.
Here are a few more pictures from my morning walks.
Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Walk with me beloved
My heart filling with wonder
I pause to thank you
